Public & Product Liability
The dot 2 dot policy covers your legal liability for accidental loss of or damage to Third Party property and death or injury to persons other than employees, arising out of the course of your business. Cover includes:
- £5 million limit of indemnity as standard but can be extended to £10 million
- medical malpractice covering any legal liability arising out of neglect, error or omission committed by nursery staff in their performance of their normal duties including administration of medicines up to full policy limit
- nursery nurse professional risk covering legal liability for death or personal injury to a nursery child arising from any errors and omissions on the provision of professional service of nursery nursing up to full policy limit
- libel and slander
- contingent motor liability (non-owned vehicle)
It is important that your business description should be shown correctly on all policies. Therefore here at dot 2 dot we have agreed with Zurich that nurseries can undertake the following as part of their business as a “children’s nursery”
- days out to zoos, farms, libraries, shops etc.
- lessons from third party providers e.g. swimming, dancing and PE type activities
- children’s parties within the nursery premises
- open days/fundraising events including bouncy castle hire, face painting, firework displays, sale of books and goods within the nursery (i.e. book clubs etc)
- sale of products including nursery goods, nappies, milk etc and birthday cards
- attendance at local carnivals, walks and processions
- hire of rooms for training activities to local authorities including councils, Early Years representatives etc
If you offer any additional services, then we will need accurate descriptions of these activities.
